Care & Maintenance
Caring for your Swany Sport gloves
Your Swany Sport gloves pair a stretch softshell shell with a genuine leather palm and a waterproof, breathable insert. A few simple habits keep them warm, dry, and ready for whatever the day throws at you.
Dry them naturally
After you've been out in the cold and wet, let your gloves air-dry at room temperature with the cuffs open. Keep them away from direct heat like radiators, heat vents, hair dryers, or a fire — too much heat can stiffen the leather palm and damage the insulation and waterproof insert.
Clean gently
Wipe off dirt and salt with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then let them dry. Skip the washing machine, dryer, and dry cleaner, and don't soak them — it can break down the leather, the Hiloft™ insulation, and the waterproof, breathable liner.
Look after the leather palm
The palm patch and trim are genuine leather. Now and then, rub a little leather conditioner into the clean, dry palm to keep it soft and grippy and to help it resist water. A light touch is all it needs — avoid petroleum-based products.
Keep water beading
The stretch softshell shell has a PFAS-free water-repellent finish that fades with wear. When water stops beading up and starts soaking in, refresh it with a spray-on or wash-in reproofer made for jackets and outerwear.
Store them dry
Always make sure your gloves are fully dry before storing them. Keep them somewhere cool and dry and out of direct sunlight, laid flat so they hold their shape and are ready for next time.
Everyday habits
When you take your gloves off, hold onto the fingertips and pull them off from there — this keeps the lining from turning inside out. Keep the touchscreen fingertips clean so they stay responsive, and let your gloves dry between uses so they're cozy every time you head out.
